Logo Challenge Day 32: Sports Team

Much of the time, a logo is going on letterhead, signs, business cards, etc. But how do you approach a logo that you know will be on shirts, hats, jerseys, helmets, dog leashes, flags, leggings, and on, and on, and on?

As soon as I read this prompt I wanted to focus on football. Of all the sports I definitely watch more football than anything else. I'm familiar with the aesthetic and understand the product. Looking at other NFL logos, we are looking at 2 or 3 colors and almost always has a thick outline as if it's a patch.

Animal logos are very popular in the NFL so I decided to go in that direction. I chose an owl but went for the "Raptors" name. I wanted the logo to be imposing but vague.

Very rarely will the NFL need to worry about printing in only one color, but that doesn't mean the logo shouldn't look good that way!

This was fun! Maybe after day 50 I will create NHL, MLB, and NBA logos!
